Bad Endings
Basil was leaning against a trunk of a really old tree. Although his life up until now was indeed an unhappy one, Basil decided to change that. His stomach filled with butterflies when he imagined Dorian pushing him against that tree. In this case, there were no actual butterflies as the phrase was used figuratively. That means he felt like there were butterflies.
But as I said, his life was quite unhappy. Before he could express his feelings, Dorian told him he was in love with a woman and Basil's heart broke, figuratively, as he leaned back against the tree.
Not sure if I was successful but I tried :) (I had to shorten it a lot to put it together, so I'm not very happy with it tbh)

I'm not familiar with the author, but I have a soft spot for Basil (and Dorian, of course).
It's beautiful :)
